Saaz Hops Plant

Saaz is mostly used in pale beers including lagers. They originate from Czech Republic and helped characterise pilsner lagers. Their low alpha acid means they are not very bitter yet give off what is sometimes described as a  lemony taste.

 

Alpha Acid 4-6.6%

Beta Acid 4.6-6%

Total oil 0.4-1 ml/100g
